Facebook Timeline Banner Dimensions

I tried to quickly search and reference the Facebook Timeline banner size but nothing came up. Also if you want to save a little bit of time, we have created a quick template for you to use. It includes guidelines and a mockup of where your avatar would exist (this will help accommodate for the design).

The size for the Facebook Timeline banner (or cover as they call it) is 851 x 314 pixels.

Note: We've updated the PSD to accomodate the larger profile photo, click below to go to the post.

Love resources like these. Mostly because NO ONE ever divulges this stuff and although I suppose figuring it out on your own can be rewarding…streamlining the process is a whole lot more efficient.

Will share this with some people I know are going to butcher the Timeline due to lack of help.

Thanks for the PSD, but I think perhaps it should be 315px tall? Even if the extra 1px is not visible, at 314px the image looks to get slightly distorted and compressed server-side.

Hey Cody, please see our updated cover banner PSD for the new size since we have updated the file: http://mrare.ca/blog/facebook-timeline-banner-size

Thanks for this. Stupid that Facebook doesn’t just list this info on their own.

Looks Like they have changed the dimensions for the profile pic since this post. It is somewhat larger now.

Many thanks, most handy. I have a PS action script that produces all iOs and Android sizes for apps. I wish I had the skills to produce one for all the Facebook app sizes.
I do have a cool cheat sheet tho’

Hi… can you advise me as to how these banners display itself on an android device. Only a portion can be viewed. Do you perhaps have a guideline on designing the timeline post for android devices.
